Hava & Adam was established as a movement for personal, social and environmental awareness, with the guiding principle of fundamental respect for the individual as aware of and responsible for his/her actions and their impact upon environment, both human, living and natural.
Our activities are based on the careful and intelligent use of the earth’s resources and we see it as our mission to serve as a model for how to improve the "ecological equilibrium" between ourselves, the natural world in which we live and the social, health, educational, cultural, technological systems we have created.

The Hava & Adam Ecological Farm is an educational-ecological center that integrates social and environmental education with a holistic point of view. We emphasize and nurture personal growth and harmonious interaction between man, his society and his natural surroundings.

At Hava & Adam people from all walks of life come together to build a self sufficient community based on environmental and social principles. In realizing these principles we open our doors to anyone believing in their power to change.

Sustainable Living at Hava & Adam Eco-Educational Farm
Hava & Adam is an eight-acre prototype ecological farm located near the city of Modi’in in central Israel. The founders - educators, environmentalists, architects, scientists and social activists - established the facility in 2003, as an ecological education center and community to serve as a platform for exploring the interrelationships between the human-generated and natural environment.
As a center for sustainable living, Hava & Adam serves as a model to the larger society. The organization strives for ecological self-sufficiency through the use of solar and thermal energy, waste management, ecological construction, recycling, and organic farming. Some 35 volunteers live and work on the farm at any given time and are active members of our ecological community.

We do not teach merely principles in theory rather we live them in actuality.
Hava & Adam composts, recycles, and builds with all the waste or trash that our community and visitors have produced. A solar powered generator, a recycling unit, community gardens, an animal farm, a bakery, food heritage department, organic fields, a greenhouse and more are located on the site. All units and activities are run according to the principles of permaculture design and sustainability and serve as models for study and replication.
Some of our accomplishments include:
- Establishing eco-centers in 20 schools
- Guiding some 10 community gardening initiatives
- Training over 80 youth counselors
- Operating summer camps
- Teaching certification courses in Permaculture Design
- Running a variety of activities and workshops in crafts, cooking, herbal remedy preparation, and organic farming
- Hosting hundreds of visitors - children, youth and adults from Israel and abroad
Hava & Adam also provides consulting services to an increasing number of individuals, non-profits, municipalities, regional governments and the Israel Defense Forces on how to incorporate 'green' thinking, systems, technology and education into existing frameworks. Hava & Adam aims to serve as a bridge between disparate sectors in Israeli society (and the world) by focusing on mutual concern for social and environmental issues.
